2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,300 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Calm after the storm

he said..
“I want to be the fire in your world
I want to be the one that makes you swoon”

What is it that makes us smolder so
Will the fire ever engulf our souls

The heat comes, it grasps us both
assisting us in achieving our hopes

It burns under our feet, engulfing our toes
It stays down there but we never let it grow

I reply..
I don’t need the pain the fire might cause
I need to put out the embers and just pause

I want you as my peace, my calm, my sweet
Just stand with me, no need to sweep me off my feet

Let the coals burn under us for now
let us grow from it all some how

Bring on the rain, let the frost cover
It’s the calm after the storm I long for

Tick Tock

Tick Tock, Tick Tock
All I hear is that annoying clock

It’s been taunting me all day
slowing down the time in my way

Tick Tock, Tick Tock
Do I continue to work or Walk

This day has dragged on continuously
Every minute seems to take an eternity

Tick Tock, Tick Tock
I wish I was where I am not

I try to look for something to do
I’ve tried all day, if you only knew

Tick Tock, Tick Tock
Sounds the dreaded clock

This endless day is making me ill
Why NOW is time standing still?

Repairing My Heart

You picked up my broken pieces, the pieces of my heart
You handled them with sweetness, what the last man ripped apart

You used cotton gloves whenever you had to touch me
so as not to smudge or break off yet another piece

You tried to mend, You tried to repair
You tried to defend, You showed you care

You reminded me I should be respected, showing me as much
Your feelings for me were reflected, especially in your touch

You showed me what I was missing while hanging on the wire
You held me close and kissed me whenever I was tired

I never feared your wrath, I never worried about your reaction
You walked beside me on the path never leaving for better action

You told me I deserved better, reminding me that I deserve the best
You kept me warm through the winter ignoring all the rest

I worry for your heart my sweet, I wonder how it will do
As strong as you are, yours is week and my thoughts are of all you
