You Left The Door Open

You left the door open behind you
I thought you were still in the house
Slamming the door is what you normally do
This time you were as quiet as a mouse

You didn’t bother taking any belongings
Yet your departure seemed well planned out
I guess all these weeks of your stone walling
Was to avoid telling me what was coming about

I didn’t hear the car door slam
Or any Squeals from the tires
as you drove away
As I reeled from the effects of your thought out plan
I knew I would always remember that day

As I stood and looked at the empty door way
Your void was felt almost immediately
I couldn’t believe you would just go away
Without even trying to work things out with me

You left the door open behind you
Letting the cold air come rushing in
It was a pivotal day and I had no clue
That our relationship was about to end

The Greeting Card Writer

Recently I started thinking about how fun it would be to write greeting cards. The first job I ever had was working at a greeting card store and when things got really slow (which was often) I would read the cards to keep from going insane.

Here are some examples of the Greeting cards I would write:

Outside of card #368

“Thank you for the delightful banter
Thank you for the fun
You want to get to know me better”

Inside of card

“But my instincts tell me to run!”
GOOD BYE

Outside of card #254

” I so enjoyed sitting next to you
You always make me smile
I never know just what to do
When I haven’t seen you in awhile

I’m very sorry for what happened
It was never what I wanted to do”

Inside card

“I feel like crap my dear friend
I never meant to puke on you”

SORRY

Outside of Card #642

“Take this broken heart of mine
Please Keep it safe for me
I know this muscle will be just fine
For It’s you that holds it’s key”

Inside card
” you hold the key that locked me in
Your selfish little cage
My anger towards you will never end
I’m filled with so much rage

Take her panties I found on the chair
Please pack them with your stuff
Whatever you feel I don’t really care
Get out of my life you disquieting fuck”
BE WELL

Outside of card #88

“I think you should go back to your ex
Please take no offense ”

Inside card

“But you are really bad at sex.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Outside card #902

“You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen”

Inside card

Of course I’m blind but that doesn’t mean anything.
GET WELL SOON!

This is just a small sample but I think you get the picture. Maybe I should call my line Sarcasms Notes?

Enough

I don’t want this to make me smaller
And small is how I feel
I can’t see me any longer
Your asking me to be some one who’s not real

I am jumping through all your hoops
I am singing praises of useless things
How low will your demands stoop
Before this caged bird will spread her wings

I’ve bent and changed just to suit you
I have stopped doing what makes me unique
I have stifled what I really want to do
Even softening the way I speak

My journey with you is ending
As my love towards you diminishes
It is now time for a new beginning
Before my pride is tainted with blemishes

I see the importance of silence
I know now to think before I speak
Time to use some common sense
I’m done telling you what I think

It’s one thing to adapt to a space
And another to be who your not
My hopes were to high in this case
It’s not the Utopia I once sought

I don’t want to make myself smaller
Not even if it pleases you
I’m no longer one of your followers
I’m going to try something new

Don’t Censor Me

Don’t censor me
I’m not here to appease you
My words set me free
Whatever their effects may due

I’ve been in trouble for my words before
I’ve dealt with others opinion
You can take your judgment and walk out my door
Until you live this life I’m in

No matter what I will keep speaking my mind
Damn all the consequences
Your voice has never been as loud as mine
You’ve always seen this as a nuisance

This is how I express myself
This is the way I let it all out
My agenda is set for no one else
I’d rather do this than to shout

Take your demands of censorship
Use them to quiet your on voice
I will say what I want in perfect pitch
Because in America I have that choice
