Dumbfounded

This new found information has stopped the clocks
Along with my heart, breathing and ability to think
People in glass houses should not throw rocks
Funny how everything changes with one little blink

You are not as perfect as everyone seems to believe
Your ease in forgiveness makes perfect sense now
I surprised it wasn’t you who decided to leave
Or make it easier for me to go some how

I never understood your calmness with our demise
I thought you were just detached like you had always been
Now I know more than I ever wanted to realize
Our relationship should have ended before it ever began

Hopefully some day I will be able to breath deeply
I may be able to process this news someday
Someday when I’m not dumbfounded and weepy
A day when my forgiveness is all I have to give away
